PAM Annual Architecture Student Works Exhibition 2023 (PAASWE 2023)

Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) organized the 17th PAM Annual Architecture Student Works Exhibition 2023 held from 4 - 8 October 2023. This year’s exhibition theme is “Dancing Tower”. The word dancing in the theme is the method of revealing the architecture students’ works through cascading layering and another dynamic form. The word Tower represents the students’ Higher Aim to reach the Sky, which was depicted in every project they have completed and exhibited in the exhibition booths.

Faculty of Built Environment (FBE), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in collaboration with Faculty of Civil Engineering and Built Environment, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) organized an event, Design and Architecture Forum (DECORUM) 2022 titled “The Role of Architecture in Empowering Universal Design” held at Dewan Mutiara, DeTAR Putra UNIMAS. UTHM students also went to many other parts in Sarawak including Sarawak Cultural Village, Damai Beach Kuching, Darul Hana Bridge, Kuching Floating Mosque, Kuching Waterfront and Borneo Cultural Museum.

Two days of Urban, Cultural and Heritage Architectural trip to Muar and Malacca which covers Muar Cultural Walk, Malacca Morten Malay Village, A Famosa and Stadhuys to expose to Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia and Parahyangan Catholic University delegates on the urban and heritage town trail. Students also experiencing the river cruise and technical visit to UNESCO World Heritage Buildings around Malacca.
ARCHITECTURAL VISITS - Johor Bahru
19th Aug 2019 The Astaka and Glulam Gallery, Johor Bahru
One day Architectural trip to Johor Bahru which covers The Astaka owned by Astaka Padu Sdn Bhd (APSB) and Glulam Gallery owned by Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) located in Johor Bahru. The Astaka visit exposed the Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia and Parahyangan Catholic University delegates on the high rise architecture where it is the tallest residential towers in Southeast Asia that offer awe-inspiring views over the glittering skyline of Johor Bahru and Singapore. The visit to the Glulam Gallery is also very inspiring as the project was recognized by Malaysia Book of Records as the first completed building use glue-laminated timber (Glulam) as the load bearing structure which exceed 80% usage of wood to complement the design concept of the glulam iconic building.

The 31st Architectural Students Workshop 2019 is intended to ignite the FOURTH CYCLEof themes in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution with xxx!nyala (read as "the thirty first is NYALA") which was held in IUKL. Our first batch UTHM architecture students were lucky enough to get the opportunity to participate and meet other architecture students from various universities.

Two days of Cultural and Heritage Architectural trip to Melaka which covers Morten Malay Village, A Famosa, Stadhuys to expose to Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia and Parahyangan Catholic University delegates on the heritage town trail. River Cruise,Technical Visit to UNESCO World Heritage Buildings around Melaka. This was also a joint program with Politeknik Merlimau, Melaka.
Career Route in Architecture Field Programme
22nd Nov - 24th Nov 2018 SAVANNAH HILL RESORT, ULU TIRAM, JOHOR BAHRU.
Two days programme held in Savannah Hill Resort focussed on the career route in Architecture Field. Three architects were invited to give talk on the arcitecture career for their future understanding. Students also went for jungle tracking, sports and games to strenghten their mental, physical and emotional besides having good experience on exploring nature and bonding with their classmates.

NECO Competition
27th Nov - 29th Nov 2017 Dewan Sultan Iskandar (DSI), UTM Skudai, JOHOR BAHRU.
Students participated in National Eco-Construction Competition known as NECO2017 held at UTM Skudai and won special mention award as Best Sustainable Design. NECO2017 is a competition organised by Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) with new established Sustainable Construction Excellence Centre (MAMPAN) along with Centre for Advanced Construction Technology and Innovation (CACTI) and Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is a great exposure for our architectural students.
Fully Excellent Programme 2017
2nd Nov - 4th Nov 2017 Brindley Training & Camp, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
Students went for the fully excellent programme at PD Sanctuary Outdoor Training Camp where they had team building and it's a great exposure for our architectural students.
The Fortune Dragon Statue trip
12th July 2017 Fortune Dragon Statue, Yong Peng, Johor.
Students had their one-day trip to The Fortune Dragon Statue which was completed in 2016 at a cost of RM 8 million. It is said to be the world's largest dragon tunnel with a length of 115 meters. The Fortune Dragon snakes its way around the garden and visitors enter through the dragon's mouth and exit near the tail. Inside there are 144 steps up and down.
